Creating a NetPlusUltra®-enabled forum: the how-to

Step 2/7

Starting from the precedent question, let's now take a look at the mis(con)figured dimensions that generate so many interface defaults: a chart of 4 columns by 4 rows should provide big enough a picture to cover it all. The criteria for cognitive disentanglement will be, on the one side, the publication model to be chosen for each relational dimension, and on the other side, the solutions best suited for the management or your public and private spaces.

At the web-based level, it is important to understand that the internet at large is in itself the forum of all fora, and that the individual dimension is that of your presence in the web directories, of which the first is the search engine, whichever your favorite. Next come the social network directories, dedicated to specific exchange formats, and finally your own personal address book, to feed your messaging applications for differed and real-time communications.

Please refer to figure n° 4.1 of the Slidefolio page.

If you are clear about the upper half of this chart, then the rest should unfold all by itself. Which is where the shared publication and web hosting model becomes a more evident choice, insofar as it simply provides more options for customizing and securing the permissions pertaining to your network of relationships. To the extent that your virtual showroom is dedicated to the purpose defined at step 1, your provider's catalogue of solutions should now appear more self-explaining as well.

With your Webfolio configured from the inside out and the outside in, the kind of emulation environment I'm in the process of configuring unveils itself as we approach the conceptual optimum, which is no less than the proof of concept that a forum adds value to the whole. Hence, these Extra- and IntraNetPlusUltra® networks can be referred to as multi-thematic member directories (.info) dedicated to the organization of meetings (.net) with a view to the production of web contents (.org).
